Volcanic Farms Pies and Produce - Horseshoe Bend

We were driving home from our weekend at Lake View Cascade vacation home in Donnelly and my husband said: “oh, I’ve heard about this pie place!” and I said: “pie??? Oh, we’re stopping.” … and that was the beginning of my obsession with Volcanic Farms Produce and Pies in Horseshoe Bend Idaho …

When you see it, you might think “skip” … but that’s only if you’ve never heard of them before or tasted their delicious fresh baked pies … the place inside isn’t anything to brag about … it’s simple … think of a farmer’s market tent, but inside … the pies are offered in single slices or a full pie … we decided to get singles because we wanted to try more than one kind. We decided on apricot, strawberry-rhubarb, and cherry.

OMG you guys … this pie is INSANELY GOOD! Since it’s 45 minutes away from where we live in Meridian, I couldn’t just ‘go back’ for another slice … but I promise you: if it was closer, I would have. The crust is perfection, the filling is amazing … they use ALL REAL BERRIES … never from a can. They also offer gluten-free crust pies! We topped ours with vanilla ice-cream … it was a real treat.

If you find yourself near Horseshoe Bend in Idaho … stop and get pie, because you won’t regret it.
