I love potatoes … and while it may be an ongoing joke that Idaho is just a bunch of potato fields, anyone who lives here knows that couldn’t be further from the truth … with that said, I have tried some seriously delicious potato dishes and have compiled my favorites below!
The Potato Chip Brittle at Soft Landing Soft Serve Ice Cream
Think peanut brittle, but instead put a potato chip in as the hero … the potato chip brittle at Soft Landing Soft Serve Ice Cream is made with carmelized sugar and sea salt potato chips and it’s the most amazing crunchy topping for your ice cream! YUM!!
Lefse at Loving Lefse
Loving Lefse is an incredible food truck soon to be turned into a storefront in downtown Boise … their potato flat bread is INSANELY good and has all sorts of toppings you can order … the cinnamon roll lefse is one of our favorites … also the chicken caesar wrap is a must order!
THE GEM STATE OF MIND PIZZA AT THE WYLDER
The Gem State of Mind pizza at The Wylder has fingerling potato, caramelized onions, rosemary and sage. If you’ve never had a potato pizza, this is the place to go to get your first experience …. so incredibly good!
Spud Daddy Baked Potatoes
Spud Daddy is doing ALL THINGS baked potato … think toppings like: bacon, corn salsa, brisket chili, pico de gallo, green and red salsas, coleslaw, and house made salsas … plus more!!
The Baked Potato Cart at Hemlock
Is this the first potato to be featured on Forbes? Possibly … I personally experienced the baked potato cart at Hemlock and it is as good as the rumor says … highly recommend making a reservation and popping on it!
Potato Churros at The Boise Post
Since we live in Idaho, why not a churro made with potatoes? Well, The Boise Post said YES to that order and served it up in delicious fashion with sea salt, dulce de leche, cinnamon, vanilla sugar … plus the views while you eat this at their rooftop restaurant are AMAZING.
The Fries at Wyld Child
Can we just call a sweet potato a potato for the sake of this post? I am OBSESSED with the sweet potato fries at Wyld Child in Boise … they are the perfect combination of salty, sweet, and crunchy with a little bit of squish … SO DELICIOUS
The Spud Stick from Mr. Bee’s
Spud Stick from Mr. Bee’s … an entire potato sliced, fried, seasoned, and placed on a stick! Now, this might only be available to order from the Western Idaho Fair … but order it you should … it’s the perfect ‘walking around’ treat and it’s super fun to look at too!
