ADELMANN MINE TRAIL BOISE IDAHO
In May, me and my family crossed a hike off our Idaho Bucket-list and it was challenging but so worth it!! We hiked the Adelmann Mine Trailhead in Ada County, Idaho - which leads to a historic old gold mine. It’s a scenic hike with expansive views of the Boise River Valley, Lucky Peak, and the Trinity Mountains - but the walk up to the goldmine is all uphill and there is no shade - so be warned. The trail starts at the Boise River Wildlife Management Area headquarters, is dog-friendly (on leash), and features wildflowers in Spring (we saw tons of beautiful flowers all the way along the hike) - and you might even see elk or deer. We saw lots of beetles and some lizards.
We did take our 2 dogs with us … one of them did great and one of them needed to be carried on the way back because he got too hot - we had water but it is a lot of sun exposure.
All in all I am so proud of my kids for getting all the way to the top! It was quite the workout with a huge payoff!
